What is Taza stone?
Taza stone is a sedimentary limestone quarried in the Taza region, especially around Oued Amlil in north-eastern Morocco. Known for warm beige, cream or pearl-grey tones, it is part of Morocco's geological heritage and a long architectural tradition — from historic medinas to contemporary villas in Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech.
Unlike marble, which is metamorphic rock, Taza stone retains a more porous structure and excellent weather resistance. That makes it the preferred choice for outdoor use: ventilated façades, retaining walls, terraces, pool copings and pedestrian walkways.
Main varieties and colours

Recommended applications
On façades, Taza stone protects the building envelope while giving a strong identity. With suitable hydrophobic treatment, it ages gracefully under the Moroccan sun. For terraces and pools, choose sufficient thickness (often 2 to 3 cm depending on installation) and a slip-resistant finish.
